Peter may well be looking for a new club then. I bet the managment was not best pleased

Nothing to worry about Ron, take a chill pill.
The ref basically won them the match, we had a perfectly good goal disallowed, and should have had a pen, you would have thought that WTFC had won the World Cup at the end, about 538 there I heard.

Definitely the worst officials we've had this season, like you said he basically won them the game.
Obviously disappointed to lose, but it means one less cup competition to take priority over the league.
Positives were that we performed much better than last Saturday, and on another day and if we'd had a decent ref, we would have won that game in normal time.
Oh and Whitworths lost 4-1 to Eynesbury!!

While its nice to see Whitworths lose, that's not such a good result actually, means we're 4 points adrift of the top 3 with only a game in hand over Oadby, Tuesday's match may be the most important of the season so far I suspect, another poor result and we could be falling behind.
And this league is pretty odd I have to say with teams really struggling to find any consistency, there's several teams in the middle of the table who have almost won half their games and lost half their games, not many draws about at all.

I thought we'd win this without needing to be at our best judging by Wellingborough's form. Wasn't there but sounds like the ref has spoilt it.
Re: Pete, didn't he do something similar very recently? If there's no good reason then that's not on.

Yes, at Yaxley when we didn't have our full complement of subs.

Disappointing result obviously, and after a quick goal, we should have pressed on. We played the better football, and when BOTH benches spend the whole of the second half berating the ref for some of his puzzling decisions, you know the man in black has had a stinker, and boy did n`t he ever.
Louis Smith made an impact in the short time he was on the field. I would like to see him get more of a run-out.

I know people say he was good in a friendly, but personally from what I've seen of him this season he hasn't impressed me at all, I can't recall him completing a single cross, perhaps he needed time to settle in but he doesn't/didn't seem good enough to me.

I stood just to the left of the terrace and couldn't hear the announcements at all.

In my opinion, today was far better than last weeks performance. Their first goal was badly defended, their second goal was a bit confusing as they had a player down almost on a bloody stretcher. I wasn't sure if we were still playing or waiting for their twelfth player to give them a reward for getting to our area. Great shot though but should have been saved. Why our goal was disallowed is a complete and utter mystery to everybody except the ref, who obviously read a different rule book to the rest of us. We must have spent 35 minutes of the second half in their end of the pitch ( we really need practise in front of goal). I think we will be ok after a few more games.
I hate picking on any particular player but why oh why does Quincy frighten me?? At one point we were hoping the defender would hoof it rather then pass it back

Performance and effort-wise it was ok. We do need to address what's happening in the opponents 18 yard box, as I lost count of the number of balls that dropped from the penalty spot to the edge of the box completely unchallenged by our players. I think we're over committing to the 6 yard box. Maybe Starms could re-watch the video and put something in place? I'd also like to see Newman playing the centre-forward role rather than being wide, we have to come up with a plan to get wide and round the back of the fullbacks, then deliver to the strikers whilst defenders are running towards their own goal.
Can't say I'm disappointed to be out of this cup, a good attendance that beat most in leagues above all the way to the Conference Premier. Also with the £6 entry, don't forget it's a 50:50 split between us and Wellingborough so helps us as well.
As for the referee well the biggest homer I've seen so far, had an awful game but generally awarded free-kicks to the Doughboys when they shouted for it.
