Yeah, dissent apparently. Don't know why he was moaning to the ref when they were already 7 or 8-0 down!
I have to say (and I don't say it very often! ;) ) that I thought the ref was superb today. I know that's easy to say when you win 8-0, but even during the first half before we really stamped our authority on the game I thought he controlled the game superbly.
I felt there was very little for him to do, most decisions he made were rather mechanical, no players flying into tackles made it easy for him for the most part.

They were attacking, Downer went to tackle their striker who turned back and laid the ball back to a midfielder, Downer chased after him so he turned and passed it back to a defender, still Downer chased after it, so the defender knocked the ball back to the 'keeper, Downer still went after it and as the 'keeper went to kick it away he sliced the ball completely sending it a couple of yards sideways and Downer was left with a simple tap in from about 6 yards out! F**king hilarious!

True, but we've seen plenty of other referees completely ruin similar games.

Thanks for that - it sounds flipping brilliant.
Did he go mental when he scored?!

The whole team did, I think Dale was the only player who didn't pile on top of him!

I feel it was unsporting to book their keeper, he was having such a bad game anyway.

It was his own fault, he should have kept his mouth shut! And aside from his colossal f**k up for the 8th goal, he didn't have a chance with any of the others. He actually made a great save from Faz as well to deny us a 9th!

Byrnes was handball.
They are close to relegation 6 or 7 nil down. Let it go ref.

I agree, on the face of it you could argue what's the point? But refs' performances are assessed each game and they can't be seen to let players off for bookable offences just because they are getting their arses kicked. It wasn't the first time their 'keeper had complained to the ref either.
