Re: Desperate measures.....
Fair play to them, I thought they'd lose tonight, but to keep their heads above the relegation zone they've done well - credit where its due eh?
Given all the rallying calls on Ploppy net and all the talk about how they'll get behind the club, 924 is pathetic - must have a lot of Chelsea fans eh?

Just 84 from Darlo and a handful of locals pay on the gate. I reckon about £1000-1250 and then they will handover 20% of that for VAT.Sid wrote:How much will they have taken at the gate tonight? Given the number of season tickets next to nothing I imagine.

The natives are getting excited in Poopyville seems a white knight is on his charger to bale them out or so the rumours go.
The White knight rumoured is a long time fan and former director Lee Thorn, now even though i would love the Ploppies to suffer further if it is true then good luck to them.

Re: Desperate measures.....
In reality unless their white Knight has a sackfull of money or someone else's money then it may well be a short term rescue and a last desperate attempt by a fairly wealthy long time fan to save them but unless they return to Kettrin they will die eventually at Nene Park.

You could have 140 years of no achievement, or twenty years of glorious victories, you decide.

Lee Thorne is the guy that sold the move to NP alongside IL, at the Wickies meeting. Apparently he was responsible for the club's commercial activities and had a fall out with IL early in the season over budgets and that's partly the reason why the facilities havn't, to coin KC's well used phrase ;), been 'sweated'.Biggles wrote:

What Thorne knows about the true costs of running NP is anyone's guess particularly since he hasn't been involved during the last couple of months.
I hope for the Ploppies stake that he, and any other investors, have plenty of disposal cash because as sure as day turns into night they're going to need it to see them survive for the rest of the season because I can't see crowds improving in the couple of months in the New Year.
It's just over a year ago that the Bee-zants and crew rode into NP on their white charger and we all know how that turned out.
