No idea if it's permissable but if we have any London based fans bucket collection at the FA Cup final might generate a decent return. In particular look out for the gentleman in Arab robes - they might be the City owners and they have a few quid ;)

Don't you need a local authority licence for any bucket collection, unless it's on private land? Many years ago  , when I was in Round Table, we had to apply to the local council for a permit to have our Christmas Crib collection in Corby town centre.

I suppose you could take chance but be prepared to have your collar felt.

Can't we get a big band/singer, to do a concert in the ground? Surely that will raise a bit of cash! If not, I'll get on stage, and do a bit of karaoke!

After your last go on karaoke that ended up in chairs being thrown about (true story) I think you should sit down be quite and leave the singing to people who know what their doing...........I.e me ;)

Clubs have done it before, I seem to remember not long ago Mansfield had Westlife play at Field Mill and AFC Wimbledon have Mumford and Sons playing a fundraiser as well but only because some of the band supported the club anyway. But we've got such little time to organise it, that I'm not sure it would be possible for us.

It's been looked at before. The ground isn't big enough for a big name and those tribute bands are ten a penny. In fact, Cambridge United did one 5-6 years ago which was poorly attended and they lost a shed load of money.

Wasn't it Chico or someone though? If it was then no wonder it was poorly attended.
