That we are signing Joe Benjamin from the Cobblers this summer.

I heard this from a friend, who's source is reliable. ;)

Is Joe Benjamin any good?

is he the lad who's been on loan at Eastbourne??
if so, decent signing IMO. though bit similar to O'Connor in style.

He looked very strong in the first half against us. Second half he faded, but being left footed, he would provide us with good balance, like for like replacement for Tomlin in the Left Forward/Winger role.

He's alright, skillful, although im told he enjoys a night out, hence why he is on loan at Eastbourne.

Not saying this isn't true, but tbh i would find this quite surprising for two reasons. 1, we still dont know what league we will be in, and 2, we haven't signed contracts with the players we do have! Why would JEMS be looking at new players, when those such as Osano etc are as it currently stands, leaving at the end of the season IIRC?

I'm sure JEMS have their eye on one or two already next season regardless of what division we'll be in. Won't be long until they'll start to rebuild for next season!

No no i completely agree, but i would be very surprised if anything has been signed, when players we ALREADY HAVE, are not signed up.

Given that this is a rumour, I wouldn't start making assumptions about contracts, etc. JEMS could have looked at the player, along with others, doesn't mean anything. A lot of managers scout players throughout the season before signing them for the start of following if they impress enough, this could be just one of a number which have caught the eye and are part of the long term planning.

the other season i see him playing for the Cobbs youth team , he was head and shoulders above his colleagues
