Who for Assistant Manager?
Well, does anyone know any up and coming (or established) names who could become the next assistant to JE? Here's a couple to set the ball rolling;-
Paul Driver - he's been with the first team, knows the set-up and has been successful with the youth.
Mark Cooper - would he be comfortable taking the back seat role? Having said that, should there be a successful season and JE moves on then he'd be a ready made replacement
Come on then, let's be having you!

No chance of Cooper wanting the job - I can hardly imagine him wanting to go from managing a championship team to assistant at a non-league team!
Paul Driver is a good call. Problem if he took the job would be that there'd be another vacant position to fill.

I have it on good authority that Cooper got interviewed for the Telford job and the big issue which stopped him getting the job were his wage demands... so there's very little chance of him coming here as manager, let alone as assistant, I would think.

I think Drives moving up is a definite possibility, and we were told at the Fans' Forum that he had had more of an influence with the first team last season. If that were to happen, I could see Mark Starmer stepping up into PD's old role with perhaps Shoey turning full time to cover that vacancy.Harry wrote:No chance of Cooper wanting the job - I can hardly imagine him wanting to go from managing a championship team to assistant at a non-league team!
