Whilst the idea of it is correct the proposal would have to go to a FL vote and unfortunately turkeys don't vote for Christmas. Look at some of the deadwood shit in the bottom half of League Two; Accrington, Barnet, Cheltenham, Macclesfield and Hereford. Can you really see them voting for another relegation place that would threaten their cosy place in the FL with all it's benefits? It's just not going to happen despite it very clearly needing to happen. :(

Last seasons top 5 in the BSP would have been in the top 10 of League Two. Fact.

I still think there should be a League 2 North and South (2 leagues) consisting of the current league 2 and the BSP. Less traveling saving clubs money on buses and hotels.

Whilst I agree with you, that's no excuse not to sign the petition. It doesn't take more than a minute to and besides, you never know. They were able to get a second promotion spot, a third might one day happen.

I think I'm missing something here. Surely the four playoff teams in the Conference last season had all been recently relegated from the Football League - thus proving they weren't good enough to play there.

Interesting to see Sara selects a group of teams who were recently non-league teams as "dead-wood" - which would tend to suggest sending fewer teams up, rather than more. Incidentally, Hereford were in League 1 just over a year ago - so are hardly dead wood.

Whilst I happily signed the petition, I can't help but feel that it is a hypocritical attempt at increasing the number of promotion places by a fickle supporter of an ex-League club who is fed up of the fact that his team aren't good enough to get promotion from this tinpot league. I have no doubt that had someone put this petition to him 5 years ago he would have refused to sign it.

I'm all in favour of increasing the number of places, but not just to satisfy the 'big' ex-League clubs who still believe they are too good for the Conference (and I'm NOT including us amongst them), and who will probably turn around if/when they gain promotion and argue against having a third promotion place.

The bottom line is there are plenty of BSP sides who could hold their own in League 2, personally I think the fixtures in the BSP are more attractive than many next season in League 2 !!

I really think that a re-structure, League 2 and BSP merge, with a North/South Div is the way forward to "open up trade" as it were - but it'll never happen, like turkeys voting for Christmas !!! lol
