I know this is a few days old now but what is it with Ronnie O'Sullivan?

"What's the point of making a 147 if you're only going to make £4,000?"

Why is he a twat? Just because you obviously don't like him, that then makes half this forum twats because I don't like them.

If the break was a 146 nobody would've said anything, I admire the guy and would love to have half his talent.

10 minutes? He holds the record for a televised one in 5 mins, must be slowing down in his old age.

Ronnie, some years back now, was honest and open about the fact he had fallen out of love for the game, and was honest enough to admit he was only in it for the money. I admire him for that and his undoubted talent which has put him head and shoulders above all others in the game for a decade.

4k to most of us is a very tidy sum, to a multi millionaire who has already admitted to the above - why bother? It's not as if he needs to prove he can do it, or that he is chasing any kind of records.

Its his choice, he puts himself in that position and he can choose to go for it or leave it as he deems fit.

Sorry, but that certainly does not make him a twat.

Well said that man.

Walking out, half way through a match, when people have paid to watch you play, and you just walk off because you're loosing, and constant attempts at making threats to quit and never actually doing it, imo, makes him an arrogant "twat"

Theres certain things sportsmen should do for the fans as well imo, what pride do you get from telling your mates "Oh I saw Ronnie O'Sullivan get a 140". The fans have been there for Ronnie, so the least he could do is be a decent showman for them and let them go home happy when he gets the opportunity.

I'm not doubting got talent, hes talented for sure. Definitely up with the best of all time.

If a football team walked out midway through a game because they were loosing, how'd you feel about them? I'd certainly feel the same as I do about Ronnie's attitude in that situation.

He wasn't "losing".
The reason he threatens to quit are pschological and unless you are qualified in that field you would NEVER understand, I have felt at times like I would love to just "walk away" from my life, in fact almost all of my life has been a mental battle with myself. Ronnie is just honest enough to admit that.
Calling him a twat because of his mental issues is IMO amazing, would you call someone a twat because they have a limp?
