I think it was obvious they weren't there to watch the game, well done to the police for taking control though.

But where were they at the end of the game in the main stand..?

Three Neanderthals were struggling with the stewards to get to our fans - shouting and using threatening behaviour as people left to go down the stairs.

I know the main threat came from the standing area but you would have thought there would have been some police presence in the main stand when supporters of both sides were literally next to each other.

This is the opposite of the over policing our club follows for the same fixture at Nene Park.

There were plenty of police at the game and they seemed to be quite evenly distributed around the away end and car parks before the game. Afterwards though, there was one cop with a video camera pointed at the terrace exit and he was the only one I saw between leaving the ground and getting back to my car on Kingsley Avenue. Before we'd even left the carpark (or rather, the mudbath where some cars were parked), there were two morons who started mouthing off at us. Fortunately, the group of Rushden fans I was walking alongside were all too busy laughing to say anything back to them, otherwise I'm quite sure it would have kicked off.

I don't know if it was in anyway related to the game or if it was just a conincidence, but as I was waiting at the traffic lights on the Rockingham Road/A43 roundabout some old bloke jumped out of his car, charged up to the car in front, opened the door and started throwing punches at the even older fella driving! Two lads from the car in front of him quickly jumped out and dragged the instigator away, and managed to get him back in his car. Thankfully the old chap seemed to be OK, but it was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen!

There was a small selection on fans in that corner who spent most of the time turned away from the game and soley towards us with over half the chants directed at us. Obviously a group who turned up to stir up trouble and nothing more, quickly delt with by PC Plod though.

Agreed, I rarely, or even EVER hear anything bad about Diamonds supporters.. Its the same old story whenever we play the scum though, its sad tbh, we beat them, they call us a "lego" team with no history, etc etc. Boring now, its getting to the point where I don't even see them as a "rival" anymore, I'm seeing them these days more as a guaranteed 3 points with a bit of stick from a bunch of chavs.

We're a class above them, on and off the field !! Nasty little club, nasty little people - end of !! LOVE beating them, LOVE IT
