Farrell...

Last season he was my favourite player, he used to put 110% effort into everything and when he scored that crucial goal at Wimbledon, and that sublime free-kick against Oxford I remember feeling so happy for him...

Hence why I'm frustrated at this season. I've never once thought he had any kind of amazing ability, but I just don't understand why today he was putting no effort in! It's almost like he feels like he has no chance with Howe and Sills so there's no point even trying, which is frustrating to see!

I have far more time for him than Sills, he is probably one of the most frustrating players I've ever seen play for us. Just utterly useless, and Howe will be leaving in January for better things - but no doubt he will have the same arrogant aura at whatever club he goes to!

I dont necessarily think there is a problem with his effort, i don't think that's ever been in question, but his confidence is certainly completely shot. As I said earlier i don't think he has scored since March. Admittedly there has been a summer break inbetween, but i reckon he must have still been involved in 15-20 matches since.

Weirdly it's taken til today to make me realise, perhaps he is escaping criticism because of his performances last season.

how many of you who were applauding the deal last year still think we came out best in getting Farrell and 10 grand for Ranks?

Not many weren't. Ranks is finally showing the glimpses that he showed here, but could never seem to produce. There is no guarantee that had he stayed, it would have happened for him here, it required a move for him to do so.
