Tragedy beyond words and comprehension.
A talented young man, in his prime and seemingly a very nice lad too. In many years of supporting Rushden, there have been few players to rival his affinity with the fans. There was a real mutual identity there, especially with the younger fans which was lovely to see.
I'm sure there will be suitable tributes in due course, but I too think retiring number 1 would be appropriate for this awful news.

Genuinely lost for words.
Always showed great passion and commitment, i agree with retiring the number 1 jersey.

Dale, you will be missed by all self respecting non league football fans everywhere.
May god go with you.
A thoroughly decent man and a tremendous goalkeeper for the club and country.

Terrible news. Dale was one of the nicest players at the club and will be sadly missed. Heartfelt condolences to his family. Can't quite believe it.
