we must have been sh!t cuz i never went to that match. and i don't miss many home games.

I remember he used to say ''we'll take the positives'' after absolutely every defeat no matter how bad.

Then not long before he left, and i'll always remember this for comedy value, a Diamonds fan rang up Radio Northampton and went on a rant about Tippett, addressing him directly and saying ''where's the bloody positives in that one Ernie?'' - something which RN then played to Tippett live on air.

Desperate times though. Where did we get him from. Never seen him before or since.

The best quote was always something along the lines of: "The lads have been doing very well in training". I lost count of how many times he used to say that after a loss.

All football managers are the same when things are going badly they have to say something to the press, what do you expect them to say,"Were shit and we know we are"? :lol:

Oh! there are plenty of managers who blame the players but the phrase you will never hear is "WE'RE shit and WE know WE are"! :lol:
