Almost as funny as Woking's new manager....so much for "watching the whole of a home match..." as per her interview following the announcement of her "retirement" :roll:

I know a lot of people that dislike Helen, although i've never met her personally. I've heard a lot of less than complimentary stories about her also
(most of which came from various incarnations of this board) so i was surprised to see the outpouring of affection on here when she resigned.

Perhaps there is more to her departure than meets the eye.

Or perhaps, like a lot of people I know who held high positions in industry, she has had 3-4 weeks of being "retired" and is so frustrated with boredom she has just decided to postpone her plans and get back into the day to day of the workplace.

Perhaps there was no position open at RDFC following her departure and Corby offered her a role she was happy to take.

She may not have been liked by everyone, but she should be appreciated for what she did for RDFC over all those years, and I would like to think we would wish her well in her new role.

Whatever people think of Helen is their business, the fact of the matter is if you were to cut her she'd bleed Diamonds !!

Many people cast stones in her direction, but at the end of the day she stepped up to the plate when the club needed her and "walked the walk" - many of those who throw stones in her direction don't fully understand what she has given to the club these past few years - without her and the efforts she has put in behind the scenes we wouldn't have a club - simple. Also, many who criticise her didn't get involved in helping the club when it needed them most - Helen can hold her head up high in that regard.

I personally think Helen has been frozen out of NP by the new owners and the press release was the usual bullshite you get in these situations. She has probably answered a call from Corby Town FC following the death of Peter Mallinger, they obviously think she has much to offer and I presume they need an experienced hand on the tiller at the moment. Remember, Helen knew Peter well, he was Chairman of one of our main sponsors FootballCV and she would have had a lot of contact with him.

I'm fairly sure Helen would prefer to be at NP in her old role, but I say good luck to her in her new one, I obviously hope she's not too successful (in a football rivalry sense ;) ) but I wish her well as an individual.

Good luck to you Helen, and thanks again for all the work you have put in over the years, straight as a die was Helen. If things work out how i think they will you might find me over their supporting Corby as well

I understand where you're coming from Piggers but I'm confused as hell. If you bleed Diamonds, you bleed it and don't go and watch your football anywhere else whilst you still can, particularly after so many years.

Ever since KC first said it, I've needed to make the point that there are plenty of people who bleed Diamonds, she's not unique in that sense, she was just fortunate to have been able to give so much of her time, many of us would have done exactly the same if we were in the same position...and I'd include many contributors to this forum in my list (including you, Piggers ;))

I think there are a few people at the club who are not too happy with the new owners, I''d expect to see one or two more dpeartures by the end of the season.

I could outpour alot of my feelings about Mrs T and what she did or didn't do for RDFC. I to am confused by Piggers post, if you cut someone and they bleed RDFC, why move to a position with your possible local rivals in the space of a couple of weeks.

I agree she did keep Diamonds afloat, but there are ways of doing things and she alienated a lot of people who also bled RDFC. I think the new owners have made a fresh start at board level, time will tell if that proves to be a good or bad thing, but what I can say there is one less cloud hanging over Nene Park now.
