On the first half showing, no way, on the second half one - maybe.
I thought we were dreadful for the first half, clueless frankly. Second half was a vast improvement and had we taken our chances could have run out very comfortable winners.
Cambridge are poor though and we made hard work of them, I'll be disappointed if we don't win at the weekend as well after seeing them tonight.
The cross from Charles for the goal and the save from Brown to Smith's shot were top drawer, highlights of the game for me. Dominated the final part of the game, but I always felt that they could hit us on the break as in the first half, we made hard work of it as we did against Tamworth at the weekend - we have the ability and its very frustrating to not see us deliver it for a full 90 minutes. Someone is going to get a spanking from us soon, because we will start to take the chances we're creating, and we're creating a lot !!
2 games in hand on some of the sides above us and with opposition coming up that we should beat, we're in for an interesting few weeks I think.
Heard a whisper that Kevin Gallen is on his way to us, if we can get him fit he could be the difference, if true of course.

We did create a number of chances in the second half but very few before the break. It wasn't until a much more committed approach after the interval, plus player changes towards the end, did we make a breakthrough.

I think Cambridge worked hard and closed us down in the first half, pushed us back and we had no answer to them, Millsy was soooo deep at times, he couldn't get into the game. We imposed ourselves a bit second half as they tired a bit.
40 points now, I reckon 2 more wins and we should be safe from the drop ;)

It's a good step. I feel Cambridge will be more up for it Saturday so we need to build on this win and go into Saturday's game determined and confident.

No one will get a "spanking" from us until we start to play in the 1st half. We would've beaten Hayes and Tamworth if we'd put in a better 1st half performance and if (love that word!) we had those 4 points we'd been sitting pretty tonight!

Agreed - OR we take the chances we're creating. Had we done that tonight we could have run out 5-1 winners !! The trouble is, a lot of teams will shaft us in the first 45 minutes, crikey IF we put in a full 90 minute shift and IF we take our chances, someone is going to get "ripped a new one".......as they say ;) Fingers crossed it'll happen on Saturday
