I havnt read it but from Ive heard. Player wont paid on Thursday so refused to train on Friday, with the plan to Strike on Saturday and refuse to play. The PFA stepped in and told the players it was in their interest to play, so they did!

I've got it, haven't got time now to type it out, but if no-one beats me to it, I'll type it up later!

It does sound quite worrying though. 'morale is at an all-time low' is a memorable quote.

I'll bet it's no lower than after Dale took his own life. Some journos write a load of bollox just to be drama queens, they really do

Here you go guys:
The Non-League Paper wrote:Rushden & Diamonds players threatened to boycott yesterday’s match with Mansfield until the Professional Footballers’ Association stepped in to stop the strike.

The team have not received their wages on time for the second month running.

They refused to train on Friday and considered not turning out at Mansfield.

A dressing room source said: “The players were due to be paid on Thursday, and were told the money would be in their accounts by the close of play.

“When it still wasn’t there by Friday morning, they refused to train. They were then told that half their money would be there that afternoon, but that only happened in five players’ cases.

“The other 18 had nothing and the squad weren’t going to play on Saturday until the PFA told them it would be in their best interests if they carried on. Morale is at an all-time low.”

February’s wages were also late in what is proving to be a wretched campaign for last season’s play-off semi-finalists.

Tragedy struck in early December when goalkeeper Dale Roberts committed suicide, just days after Gary Calder had taken over from Keith Cousins as chairman, backed by the Beasant family – father Steve and son Liam.

Calder was voted off the board last month with Liam stepping up from chief executive to become chair. Steve now acts as chief executive.

Diamonds –who recorded their lowest Conference attendance when just 759 watched their March clash with Forest Green – are also operating under a player registration embargo after failing to pay a tax bill on time. They also face a points deduction over a charge of allegedly misleading the Conference over their finances.

The latest developments will cast a huge shadow over the future of their manager, highly-rated ex-Tottenham defender Justin Edinburgh, who has been targeted for vacancies at league rivals Cambridge and Grimsby in recent weeks.

Thanks JamesRDFC, confirms our worries that the future of the club is serious doubt at the moment, who knows what will happen in the next week but I fear that we may see a Weymouth situation for next Saturday or no game at all, scary to think I might have seen my last Diamonds game. Not much we can do but just hope we somehow get through this all :(
