“People come and go – we know that, that’s what the life of football brings.
“The next couple of weeks, although the football has finished, will be busy.
“Hopefully we can sort the embargo out and move forward.
“There’s always going to be a football club, no doubt about that.
“Hopefully we can get the off the field activities sorted and we can move forward.”

Well that's very encouraging to see that he really wants to stay here even after everything that's happened, although I'd still be surprised if he is here next season.

If he's here at the start of next season (if there is a next season) then he is mental. Lovable but clearly a few cards short of a full deck.

Maybe, but i'd like too think that he's proper committed to the club. Obviously JE wants to manage at the highest level possible, but properbly thinks he still has work to do at RDFC.

I think you've misunderstood the quote. He said, "There's always going to be a football club...." he didn't say which one, though, did he?

The Beasant's are obviously a convincing pair as I heard someone saying that they had a meeting with them the other day about the future of the club and how optimistic they had made him feel.

This isn't the time for sarcasm - surely it's the time for action - are you "in" ?

True, but 'hopefully
we can sort the embargo out and move forward' and 'hopefully
we can get the off the field activities sorted and
we can move forward' does at least suggest he sees a future for himself at the club.
However, I certainly can't see how anything he says in the interview changes anything, its not like he would have said anything different to this and I unfortunately expect he'll be leaving :(

Wouldn't it be great if JE was working behind the scenes with some ex-playing colleagues to create a consortium to buy the club, land, ground etc - that would be frickin' awesome!

;)
As ex-pro's they would have a great starting canvas to work with and could really push the boundaries in terms of a football club from a development role, plenty of contacts within the game, perhaps a chance to set up a true Football Club centre of excellence and teaching - perhaps helping the youngsters in both on the field education and off the field as well. They could also offer a wider range of teaching and qualifications if done right for sports management, physio, psychology, ground maintenance, electrical, plumbing, building, catering, hospitality, marketing etc.....all linked into keeping the site in tip top shape with on site facilities to be maintained in the real world etc...
It could become an education centre as much as a Football Club and both students and the club would benefit, particularly if funding from LEA etc was obtained - this could foster greater local community involvement for those youngsters and adults alike wanting to learn new skills in a practical environment and foster greater RDFC community spirit being based on the site.
The above has been nowhere near thought out, just tapping away and this came to me in a rush so apologies if it is not clear! - is it worth looking into irrespective of JE heading a consortium ;) or if a Fans Action Group got involved?

A consortium of ex premier league footballers, with money and a passion and knowledge of football? I know what i'm praying for tonight! ;)
