Very odd if true - hardly a forward step for a promising manager. One wonders if he's been made aware of impending news that he doesn't like / doesn't fit in with - and with our "announcement" due tomorrow one wonders if that has any bearing on his "decision".

What like there's only room for 1 manager in a merged team....

Or Ladak is jumping ship...
Just saying. Why merge clubs when both sets of fans are dead set against it when you can achieve the same result by swapping K*ttering for Irthlingborough.

I agree with mad dog as i posted that earlier in the week as everything here is in place, it's just a case of watch this space. Do you think that the manager JE has been informed of proposed statement or of anything going on if you were in his position would you have walked, curious to what everyone thinks.
somebody has posted on poppynet that ML will be the tamworth boss tomoz :o :o

If it merges unless they are prepared to bankroll it for 10 years it will die. The reaction from both sets is very much hostile and I believe there will be phoenix clubs setting up within the next 12 months.
My own view is that from a business point of view it would make sense to pick one of the two clubs and go with that one; either Ladak drops K*ttering and comes here or K*ttering move into Nene Park. Either way, you are still guaranteed a bedrock of supporters to fall back upon if things it rough times, otherwise you need at least ten years to build that bedrock. From what I understand, the K*ttering fans don't want to move into Nene Park, so why doesn't Ladak jump ship?
This is not merging Rushden Town and Irthlingborough Diamonds, both clubs were pretty much midget teams, Rushden had the league position, Irthlingborough had the ground.
Given the last few months at both clubs, there will also be the question if the aim (and this is pure speculation, I'm not pointing the finger, merely making a point) was to run both clubs into the ground to do this. True or false, that will begin to do the rumour mill.

Chris' post on Poppynet:
So the East Northants soap opera that potentially could be called K*ttering Diamonds continues and its anybody's guess how it will end up! An announcement from NP surely imminent but not necessarily tomorrow while the second best young manager in the Conf loses patience with Ladak and understandably jumps a sinking ship to protect his young family.
What a mess at both clubs!
And just to muddy the waters still further there's the question of the NP covenant which guarantees football being played at NP for many years to come. But has anybody bothered to find out if any team other than R + D can play there? We are checking out rumours to the contrary as I write!
But this is very interesting:
Max should know, he set it up. I think if memory serves me right, only R&D can play there. But hey what do I know about the Diamonds set up....
If true, it points to what me and smiggy have been talking about! *fingers crossed and straws clutched*

Bloody hell, this is one messed up situation isn't it. Needless to say I'm nervous ahead what I'm sure could be one of the most important days in this club's history tomorrow. I really can't see a merger happening though, didn't someone say it would be up to the fans? Though the situation is strongly pointing towards a merger, we'll just have to see.
Could be seeing AFC Rushden and AFC K*ttering in the UCL at this rate :?
Oh and Chris sums it up perfectly, it is a soap opera!
