To be fair if there are legal discussions going on there isn't a lot else that can be said, I;m the last person to defend SB, but if he's had legal advice saying keep schtum, then he has to.

I think we're in for an interesting early part to next week - if the winding up petitions can be postponed and we can get new investment, maybe we can survive - clutching a straws here I know.

If fans stand by the club in a lower division and turn up as they have done recently, 8-900 or so, whose to say we can't make a go of it? Its down to those last diehard fans to show their mettle and turn up to watch a lower level of football. We'll see I guess, just my optimism shining through - if we're in the Zamaretto Premier Div I'll be there - I wonder how many others will be with me????

I think the biggest stumbling block is the running costs of NP, but if in a lower division we may be able to negotiate lower rates of rent etc

To be fair to SB that's not a bad response and does appear to be a complete run down of events. Just a shame that everything has been so last minute - including the communication.

If things do go badly with respect to the alternative investors then I guess many of the creditors will be asking the Conference why they didn't accept the offer that was made, especially if they end up getting nothing.

Thats a really good point Tony. If there were cast iron guarantees from KC re: money lodged with the Conference pending new investment next week, then a lot of people may lose money because of the Conference's decision - I wonder if they individually have a legal claim they could make against the Conference????

Is it just me, or does SB appear to be blaming the Conference board for our current state? It does seem that the Conference were all too happy to expel us but if it wasn't for the Beasants we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. :x

I couldn't believe it when I read the following paragraph in particular:

Monday 13th June we will be seeking adjournment of petition based upon pending investment which is in the best interests of all creditors & Club, this is now putting Club at risk of liquidation should order not be granted & is due solely to the Leagues action.

I certainly feel that if i was on the conference board i would be transfering ownership of any goods to another name especially if the tax man comes looking for his money if this all goes tits up for us. I would expect the people owed money to be chasing the board for this along with a lot of other creditors not yet nemed ie land ladies etc

I'm no legal expert, far from it, but I doubt very much that the Conference board are in any way liable for the monies Rushden & Diamonds FC owes simply because they have expelled us from their league, despite Steve Beasant's frivolous attempts at passing the buck. All of our debt was accrued whilst we were a Conference Premier club and the only way it was ever going to be repaid was if a new owner took control of the club, inheriting all its debts, and had enough cash to pay off the creditors.

The only people the creditors have any case against are the members of the Rushden & Diamonds Football Club board i.e. Messrs Beasant (for the moment at least).

If it is found that the conf board did turn down the offer of us having £350,000 to pay immediate creditors and we then go into liquidation and these people get nothing i would imagine their would be a very good case for all the creditors getting together and suing the conf board oor the monis that they would have recieved
