HIGHLIGHTS - IMPORTANT

I E-mailed Matt to ask about the possible idea on having your highlights given to BBC (Like Oxford) or on Youtube (Like York) and this has hes reply, very promising if there is anyone out there!
Basically 2 groups hold the rights to our online footage. PerformGroup/Fli - who run the official sites network of which http://www.thediamondsfc.com is are part of - so in other words if we had the time and facilities (I'll get to that later in the email) we could broadcast highlights through the Diamond Player - a subscription service part of the website (which I'm sure you've noticed has a lot more video interviews now as I'm trying to push it, as it has the potential to raise very very good money for the club. The Football Conference - and their designated TV station (previously Setanta, currently nobody!) The BBC have an agreement with PerformGroup/Fli for Football League footage, I'm not sure how they've managed to wing it to get Oxford's footage in there too, will contact them to find out - it looks like Oxford record the footage and pass it on to the BBC, rather than the BBC actually doing any filming themselves. So as we are part of the Fli network (which York, Hayes & Yeading etc are not) we are unable to do youtube or anything like that, thats why soccerx stopped doing highlights too as Fli prevented them. So we are limited to either the subscription part of our site or bbc if they are willing to upload, (although to the best part of my knowledge they shouldn't actually have the rights to Oxfords footage - I will give Chris at Oxford a shout though, find out how they've got around that.) We record our home games on dvd, so if we could find a volunteer willing to edit those down into a 10 minute odd highlight package on a regular basis, then that'd be superb, obviously the first port of call would be Diamonds Player on http://www.thediamondsfc.com- but if fans know they are able to get regular footage (something we have struggled with since leaving the football league, where it gets done for us) then they wouldn't mind subscribing, especially knowing that it makes the club extra money too. So if there are any volunteers out there on the forums with the skills, software, commitment and time for editing dvd footage down into a highlight package- for home games at least to start with, then that'd be a great help.
