Important update from the Fans group.

Forgive me for making yet another thread but this is important and EVERYBODY should read it in full and understand the ramifications:
Over the last week or so, saveRDFC have been working tirelessly in order to try and put a number of options in place to keep a “Rushden and Diamonds” playing football. We have spoken to several pertanent parties including the FA and Keith Cousins and can report the following:
We do not believe that it is possible for the fans to save/purchase the current club without the help of an outside investor. We have not been able to find such an investor and therefore feel that the fans are unable to make any approaches to the club of this nature.
We do not believe that it is possible or indeed financially viable for the fans to create a Phoenix club for the 2011/12 season playing in the stadium at Nene Park. In order for a Phoenix club to play at a high level of the amateur game, the 2012/13 season should be targeted.
The original purpose of the meeting was to discuss these possibilities but, given the above, we as a group have no proposals of merit to discuss at a fans meeting on Thursday 16th June. We therefore feel that there would be no constructive outcomes from such a meeting and as such will not be chairing/hosting it.
Keith Cousins has confirmed that he is still willing to attend a fans meeting on Thursday at 7pm if any fan or group of fans would like to organise one. We therefore recommend that anyone wishing to hold such a meeting contacts Mr Cousins directly.
We would like to thank all those who have given up their time to consult with us recently and await news of the rumoured take-over of the current club with interest.
We have not given up on Rushden and Diamonds, but until there is a more definite outcome from the current situation we do not feel able to help in any further way.
Mr Cousins is quoted in today's ET as feeling that he isn't getting enough support. I'd like to apologise to him for not being able to put my hand on my pocket any more...the club and he have had and will continue to have as much of my time as I can give but he has to start being open and honest about what is going on behind the scenes. There are simply too many rumours out there.
An emergency meeeting of ST holders and Trust members has been called at RR for Friday evening which I think says it all.
