FC diamonds

From what I can see a few pheonix club names and ideas have been brandished aroud and a few are a mouthful, mine comes with simplicity.... Simple but recognisable name, play at raunds which would benefit both teams after some negotiating especially if our initial fan base was 400+ all it needs it (as previously said) talking to other pheonix clubs and being set up ready for a years time... Any other suggestions on the future of OUR club??!!

I do think 'Diamonds' should be in there somewhere. I also think 'AFC' should be in there although i'm not quite sure why.

How about AFC Diamonds? Or AFC Diamonds and Rushden? (similar to FC United of Manchester)

On a serious note, AFC Rushden and Diamonds is a bit of a mouthful and my point of view looking at it from a new media perspective, what ever domain you get for the official site will be crap.

The domain name will either be too long or crap eg, afcrdfc.com.

I'd recommend a slight rebranding.

And may I recommend before any official name is announced, buy the domain names first in .com and .co.uk.

Don't pick a name and then find out the domain has gone.

I like 1889 Rushden or Rushden FC; no matter what the team would be called, it will always be Rushden and Diamonds to me but I do think a slight change in name is needed from a new media perspective.

I agree. I have no affiliation with the town of Rushden at all.

Although I also see the problem of a long name being a hassle... so it's a toughie!

The approach to take would be to have 3-5 possible names and then put it to the vote of the new club members to vote on.
