..... .......that if Ladick manages to get a vote in favour, at this evening's meeting at Wicksteed Park, from the Poppies fans to move to Nene Park for the forthcoming season what the rent that they will pay and whether or not that they will occupy all the facilities at Nene Park including separate hire of the S&E centre and associated facilities. If they are taking all the facilities at an annual rent comparable to the figure that the Beasnants were obliged to pay for these combined facilities, which I understand was in the region of 300k pa, then I fail to see how they think they can balance the books bearing in mind their home attendance will be no more than 1500 at best, and probably a lot lower?
It's well documented that they've had serious problems last season with their existing sponsor, DRC Locums following Ladick's departure from the company and they will lose Elgood's sponsoship money unless, of corse, Nene Park is to be renamed the Elgood's Arena.
Perhaps, KC's mystery Nippon invester is waiting in the wings to put financial assistance in the Ploppies direction? 8-)

The only way it will fly I would have thought - its interesting looking at the views on Poppynet the majority are against coming to Nene Park .Although the options for both fans are very limited ,as we are being led by the nose by KC and Imran ,if the current views are maintained they will struggle to get above 800 although that will change if investment produces a winning team.Athough in the current economic climate the current goings on will make people think "is it worth it"

Apparently, I understand, K*ttering have a hard core support of fans who traditionally walk to the Rockinghorse on match days which doesn't happen in any numbers at Nene Park with limited support that we've enjoyed from Artleknock and difficulties in walking from Rushden and Higham.
Many Ploppies won't go to Nene Park because of this, in addition many feel that their club won't be located within their Borough and many others won't be happy to watch them at the home of their number one rivals despite our impending demise.

It will be interesting to see how the issue of the Club name is put to the Poppies fans tonight. I can see that might put more of the "rank and file" people off - the sort of people who don't use internet forums etc (we've seem what the Diamonds version of these people are like).
I assume the name change is required as they will be playing outside K*ttering borough - although I seem to remember Wimbledon keeping their name for quite a while after they moved to Milton Keynes - and Grimsby seem to get away with it.

I wouln't be surprised what Trek said at the end of his post- in being that should ktfc aquire NP to play in they then have a quality stadium as diamonds did so what is to still stop them coming in for ktfc 'i know kc denied this but would he admit to it now that would be a kick i the boll---s, but will Ladak use this to sell his idea :?:

Helen stated at the Trust meeting on Tuesday that IF the scum move to Nene Park they will probably only take on the stadium and not the S&E Centre or even the training pitches.

Thanks, Dave. I had that confirmed to me by Graham, in an email yesterday afternoon, who
used to stand with us
on the PDB although he actually said
pitch (including stands) and I did wonder about all the other offices in the north stand and full Diamond Centre complex including Strikers and the Kimberely.
Surely if they're taking that over all these facilities and paying a market rent to KC then they won't be much better off than us?

Which potentially gives us a pitch to play on & hire the changing rooms in the S & E centre. Ok it'd only be local league level, but we must start somewhere. I somehow suspect the new club will focus on a groundshare at Raunds Town though to play in as high a league as possible.

I'm not sure how feasible that would be, but I can assure you the people I spoke to after the forum would all be happy to consider a phoenix club playing on Pitch 2.
One comment was along the lines of "I would love to play on pitch 2 and have more fans watching us than the scum in the main stadium!"

S & L Corby had to instal some plastic covered standing accommodation recently for them to remain playing in the UCL next season.
