AFC Rushden & Diamonds take further steps forward...

AFC Rushden and Diamonds have taken further steps following an open fans meeting last saturday at Raunds Town FC.

The meeting attended by over 200 fans was held to update on the current position of the new club.

The fans voted to play their matches at Raunds Town next season and the club have been accepted into the Northants Senior Youth league for 2011-2012.

New manager Mark Starmer held his first training session on Thursday 21st July and will hold more training and open trials session from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Monday 25th July at Raunds Town FC on grass, and from 5:45pm to 7:45pm Thursday 28th July at Raunds Manor school on the artificial pitch. All players are welcome to attend, including those whom attended the previous trials sessions. You can pre register by contacting scott@afcdiamonds.com

AFC Rushden and Diamonds are working closely with supporters direct to ensure the community club one fan one vote ethos is written into the constitution.

James Mathie from Supporters Direct says “Having met the acting committee I was very impressed with their enthusiasm and the hard work they have already put in. At Supporters Direct we have helped a number of community owned clubs over the last few years and I am looking forward to working with AFC Rushden and Diamonds and assisting them with our wealth of experience on this exciting journey”

So playing at Raunds is a definite? If so.. whats the ground like and capacity?

never played there but the capacity is around 3,000 with 250 seated i think

Jealous fans of rival teams can talk about plasticity all they want, but we have a fantastic group of fans. :D
