What a superb afternoon

Just got back after spending a delightful 5 hours at the club. Wonderful friends, wonderful games of football and wonderfully well organised. When you get days out like this, the scoreline is irrelevant. Our thrown together team is improving really fast. I must admit I got a bit choked when the goalie shirt signed by Gordon Banks & Peter Bonetti was presented to Dale's mum & dad, but so proud our club made this day happen.
Good to see so many old players turn up and some from recent seasons - thank you one & all. Also good to hear Max was there at some point, I hope he enjoyed it as much as we did. I guessed there were around 500 fans there today.
Special thanks to Raunds Town FC and Cleveland Juniors FC.
Our club did not die, it lives on in AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Agreed, great day all round.. although if I'd known that I was going to be asked to be one of the four to hold the AFC Rushden & Diamonds flag before the game, I would have had my hair cut!!!!

Absolutely, bloody awesome day. A huge thank you and well done to everyone who took part or helped out no matter how big or small you felt your contribution was!

The turnout was fantastic, we ate Raunds out of just about everything, the players were an absolute credit to all the Clubs they represented (even the legends ;) )and I'm sure we've raised a significant sum for Dale's fund. Special mention to Mr and Mrs Roberts, it was a real honour to meet them.

Our spirit and sense of community is what makes us strong, we can go far guys :D

Yes it was just what the doctor ordered. I was feeling pretty crap yesterday missing out on the opening day of the season along with the thought of Kettrin playing at NP.

Great to see us score our first goal. The players were fantastic, a real credit and the new kit looked brilliant.

Huge thanks to all, especially the guys from Cleveland for making the long journey down.

I was also really pleased to hear that Max was there too, I hope that like the rest of the real fans, he will come and watch the AFC.

We live on and the heartbeat of Rushden and Diamonds is getting stronger by the day.
