The unofficial AFC Rushden & Diamonds messageboard

As organised by one of the Marketing Team members, a few fans attended OG's Football Tournament [http://www.grammariansyouthfootball.co.uk/] this weekend with a stall to provide information for fans, including the flag, replica kit samples, T-Shirts, and sponsor boards. Main aim was just to make people aware of AFC R&D.

Must say I forgot how windy it gets up at OG's - pretty much constantly. 2nd Day we had the Ice-Cream van park a bit closer to act as a bit of a wind break.





Many Thanks to John Souster for providing the Gazebo [in fact he gave us two for our use]. It took a bit of strain with all the wind up at OG's across 2 days - even with the extra ties.

We took a number of shirt orders, and spoke to quite a lot of Football Fans, both Diamonds and non-Diamonds to update them on progress, and give out additional fixture list flyers etc..

Thanks as always again to the folks for organising and manning this at the last minute.

Of course if you think or aware of other events we can maybe attend to raise the profile - let us know, and hopefully we can pull a few more fans to help out and spread the word!

Next Up - a few of us are planning to do the Batty Boots Walk in Rushden - which I think is next weekend...more details to follow.

Was all a last minute thing, and as i was working also through the weekend I didn't get a chance to post up when we decided to do it late Sat evening. James and Mark did all the work anyway, as I was recovering a bit between having done a couple of all nighters for work.

Ah! Must admit I wasn't aware of this - I know in the RDST days we did it once or twice (though is on a normal season day, so I didn't attend). Will see if we can do something, though as it was non-league day I was planning on going to some other games, and I am likely to be doing Batty Boots walk on Sunday.

If there are any fans that are interested in having a stall, we can look at it. I couldn't find any 2011 Carnival details online, or stall charges etc...

how about making Irthlingboro carnival a seperate thread? unfortunately i am working myself, but isn,t raunds carnival soon ?
