Good luck tonight Tony - awful weather here in Bedford, I've just got home from work so won't be venturing over I'm afraid, I could barely see the end of my car's bonnet driving along the A6 the rain was so bad - dreadful weather, I'm guessing if you have put the gazebo up you'll probably be hang-gliding over my house in a bit so I'll wave ;)

i personally did,nt but Mrs Stagman and others did but it ws decided by the organisers to pack up early , about 6.15, beacuse of the weather. Luckily their stall was outside Tesco,s and under their canopy .Sold a few items and signed up a new member, also met a few people who did not know we existed, so again it was worthwhile letting people we exist

Well done to those that did !!!

I think this whole "we didn't know you existed" thing is quite worrying - we're going to have to do some serious marketing before next season. Its costly, and will take some effort and organising, but I think a leaflet drop of all areas in Rushden and Irthlingborough is the only way to make sure we get the message over - a lot of people will just throw them away I know, but we have to try something - we're just not getting the word out there far enough are we?

If we had 50 people prepared to print off 100 flyers at home, we'd have 5,000 flyers for free - that's be a good start, if that same people could deliver them, it'd be a piece of cake !!

Thoughts???

I had been thinking along the same lines Jim, i believe some of the free papers can do that for a price . Might be worth talking to the Herald and Post or the gentleman at the Rushden Reporter. Probably do it about eraly August with a fixture list etc. In fact Rushden and Higham FC have a large advert for their next months matches in it

obviously people will know we dont exist because we can't reach everyone, its just reaching as many as possible which is why these events are key!

The Rushden Reporter has featured us regularly over the last few months and I noticed a full page advert with fixture list etc in the most recent 'In Your Vicinity' magazine too. The word will spread, we just need to make sure we're out there as a visible presence in the local area - I think we're doing a great job so far :)

it will be a little bit easier next season when we have a senior side as well the local press will carry more stories in the sports sections

Yeah, so long as we can get past Jon "Rushden & Diamonds are no more" Dunham.
