AFC Diamonds on Tour - Boxing Day

On Boxing Day I'm planning to go to "The Rothwell Derby" (Rothwell Town vs. Rothwell Corinthians) and I thought that maybe, if a few people are interested, we could make this the first fixture of the 'AFC Diamonds on Tour' idea that was mentioned a while back (i.e. we take the flag along, generally mingle with the host club, email them to let them know we're coming, etc). I know this might not seem like the most glamorous fixture but it should actually be a good-un.
If the 'on tour' idea is still a goer, we also need someone to be head of 'AFC Diamonds on Tour' (I nominate Pigman) and draw up an official fixture list.
What does everybody think?

I like the idea - am planning to get to some local games on boxing day - 11am and 3pm double bill anyone! - and would happily be part of something like this.
Agreed it would need to be formal to avoid have six of us turn up and look a bit pathetic

Just be aware that local football is notourious for being called off on Boxing day. Having said that fair play to folk on taking up this offer!

My other option is to go and watch Leicester City, but I'd rather support a local club like Rothwell where a few quid from a few of us really could make a big difference.
I don't think those at the King Power Stadium will miss the tens of pounds that the ticket will cost.
AFC on tour could make for some nice trips - a visit to AFC Wimbledon for example, a trip to see Mark Byrne playing for Barnet (in what could be their last season at Underhill), maybe when Dover are playing somewhere a bit nearer here we could go and watch them and then of course go to see JE when Newprot play someone local... the possibilities are endless.

How about Corby who are at home at 3pm? Or are they now regarded as a big club?

Well they are certainly much bigger than they used to be. I think we would get abuse from Corby fans though, besides which they don't need our money and also there's a chance we may see AFC R&D's Ashley Foulger in the Corinthians squad.

Can't we tour somewhere warmer, like Australia?

I'm up for the Rothwell game providing I can get free from the family
I'm not sure about me being the chooser of games though, I'm notoriously bad at choosing good games to go to, they normally end up 0-0 draws ;)
I nominate Two.......ooops, Three of Diamonds

I tell you what then, why don't people on the forum decide which games - you could even run a weekly vote.
