Reference also to another club needing gates above 3000 and further revenue of £500,000 before the end of the season. I wonder just how many clubs in this division are breaking even. Too many are chasing the golden goose of promotion to the football league and are operating with full time squads without the necessary financial backup. I think the Conference AGM cup is going to be very interesting next June.

The way that the majority of Conference clubs are run is not sustainable in the long term. I wonder what that league will look like in a couple of years? Many more part time clubs? North/South split?

Are Ebbsfleet really chasing promotion? I'd say this one is more alarming that ones like Darlo and K*ttering because all they're trying to do is consolidate in the BSP.
BSP clubs should all be forced to go part-time in a bid to stop this nonsense. How they do that though i've no idea.

You can't force clubs to go part time. What about Luton Town who are much better supported than most sides in leagues 1 and 2, or Fleetwood who have money to burn?

Why not? Nothing stopping Luton/Fleetwood/whoever else playing silly buggers if they want to. The competitive balance might be a bit disrupted in the BSP but it should make life more sustainable for the other clubs in there. Having watched Corby and St Neots regularly this season there is no less enjoyment from watching a part-time side.

i agree with Sid, you cannot force a club to become part time, it is down to the club to recognise if they need to become part time to ensure a successful future.

Rumour of the day that Darlo are about to go into receivership, mind you could be a big wind up from gateshead fans.
