Am I the only person here that is shocked at the amount of people that think Corcoran should start ahead of Osano.
In my opinion, Corcoran is not a good full back. How many times do wingers get past him? Far too often. His 1on1 defending is embarassing.
Also, he is the most frustrating player with the ball. He never shows ANY urgency when he has so much space in front of him.
Yes, he is a good utility player, but in my opinion, there is no way he is better than our Kenyan King, Curtis Osano!

I think your assesment is a bit harsh. I agree that Osano is the better player but Corcoran is more than capable. The boy scored 2 in 2 when Osano was out it's a bit unfair to just drop him.

Yeh, he did alrite, and i suppose 2 clean sheets with him playing says its own story, he did well.
However, Osano is one of our best players, and like the Tomlin debate on the other thread, I cannot understand some people questionning their place in the team.

He's played well in the full back role in the last few games. Made very few mistakes, to find a reason to drop him on those performances would be hard. He's really been developing as a player. I would be happy with either playing tonight so long as it is for the right reasons. The ethos of the team has very much been that you have to earn you place, and Corcoran has done that.
Whilst Osano might be one of our best players, he isn't as far ahead of others as Tomlin is. If Corcroan is in a big patch of form then whose to say dropping him for an Osano returning from a minor injury, possibly out of form, would actually be better?
I can understand people questioning if we bring either back into the starting lineup, but Tomlin is a foregone conclusion, Corcoran/Osano isn't.

I would have liked to seen the OPTA stats on Michael Corcoran against Eastbourne/Stevenage, and look at his percentage of times he was like 1on1 with his winger, and how many times he stopped the cross. It would be below 20 per cent. People get past him way too easily for me!
In fairness though, I am loving his skills at the moment, ;)
although I'd rather he focussed on the important things which really define his position.

He is a centre back/defensive midfielder.

I disagree about the defensive midfielder part. To play in midfield you need to be able to pass the ball, and Corky's distribution is terrible!

I'm going by his words last year, when Hill started playing in the midfield he said he preffered playing there.

I know Corky prefers playing in midfield, he said the same thing in a recent interview as well, I just don't think he's very good there! ;)
