Was possibly the best atmosphere I have ever experienced in all my time supporting RDFC. 1100 fans singing their hearts out. Fantastic. It was also the culmination of, in my opinion, the best season in the old club's history, due to the low expectations and restricted funds. Still hurts to this day thinking about that result on the 3rd May 2010, simply because we were easily good enough to go up that year, and I don't think Oxford were much better than us at all. And the fact that, despite not performing to our best levels on that day, we had just as many chances as Oxford (T***y, Louis etc), just we couldn't take them. Apologies for going on a bit, but good to remember a great season and to think what might have been... My question is, what is the best atmosphere you've been a part of with the Diamonds?

In my opinion its the game that killed the club. No blame on player or manager just that if we had got to Wembley the funds we would of gained would of kept the club alive, some would say it would of only put off the inevitable

Probably the Setanta Shield, Aldershot were loud but we were louder!!!!

Special mention for when we Beat Luton at Luton that was really special and we were really loud that day, I'd waited so long too see us beat Luton, even more so after the moron that is Marlon Beresford taking an absolute age to be ready for Ritchie Hanlons late penalty and then saving it with his legs when we drew 2-2 at NP

Setanta Shield Final was the best atmosphere I've ever been in by miles! I've been to two Edinburgh derbies and they didn't even come close.

I agree the Oxford game was the start of the decline. We didn't turn up that day and it was a real disappointment. I don't even want to think about it!

I've been thinking about this all bloody day, arghhhhhhhh! I don't want to think about it, just when we wanted a repeat of that performance in 2007 and instead it was just horrible.

I called Jefferson Louis out on here a month before that when he put in a non-arsed performance against Crawley and I was abused. Told you so! ;) Waste of space donkey prick.

Oh and I really disagree about having as many chances as Oxford, I only remember one chance and that was the C*** with a header from a corner in the first half. That's it, I remember loads of Oxford ones that went close.

Bloody love this picture, especially since I'm in it.

I'm now going to try and spend the rest of the day remembering Byrne's goal in the first leg. Now that was ****ing awesome, I hugged like three random people and the bit of the PDB halfway up was rammed.

I seem to remember Louis having two chances, one saved by the keeper from distance and then when we were 2 down, he miskicked from about 3 yards with an open goal in front of him. Plus the Terry one you mentioned. All Oxford had was a shot late in the 1st half well saved by Dale, and their two goals. Sorry if you feel different, but agree about the picture. Geat pic (and I'm in it as well :) ). Gutted I missed the first leg, and can imagine what the reaction in the PDB was after the goal...

I remember an Oxford chance in the first half where Constable with inches away from a rebound about 3 yards out.

Now you mention it I do vaguely remember that one from Louis at 2-0 down. ARGHHHHH!

After Byrne's goal I had to take a few minutes to calm myself down because I'd been jumping up and down so manically.

Sorry, maybe I'm just looking for reasons on why and how we maybe could have got to the final, when like Barton said, we simply weren't good enough on the day. Another atmosphere that stands out for me is Stevenage at home in that season. The reaction on the PDB when Wolly's rocket hit the net was one that I hadn't experienced for a heck of a long time previous to that :D Great reaction.

For me Rochdale away in the playoffs was a great night.

Two cross my mind... three, possibly.

1) Northampton Town at home when Billy scored the winner in the last minute.

2) The Away end at Elland Road when Heggs put us 1-0 against Leeds in the Cup.

3) The Away end at Rockinghorseshit Road when Duane scored against the morons when we were down to ten men.
