I know i'm getting a bit ahead of myself given that we haven't got a squad, but i'm really excited to find out who we're going to be playing in pre-season - and when. :)

Anything in the pipeline? Anyone able to say when some friendlies might be announced?

Am I naive to think that given our 'novelty status' as a new phoenix club, we might be able to attract some relatively big teams?

Possibly, maybe Posh would be willing to play us? We'd get 1000+ for that.

Would love to see a strong Posh, Leicester even Northampton team as one of the first matches for afcrd although not sure it's possible for insurance reasons. Could maybe get a strong youth team down though... Whoever the first game is there will be a big crowd to greet it. Presumably matches against R&H and Wellingborough will be on the cards?

One of the problems all non-League clubs face nowadays - especially those below Step 4 level - is that League clubs will not play on pitches that are not `perfect`.
Through my work contacts I have tried on numerous occasions to obtain Football League opposition for the various clubs I have been involved with - all with the same answer.
Professionals, presumably because of insurance values, aren`t allowed to play on less than perfect pitches.
To my horror, whilst at Wellingborough Town - one club which I won`t name - agreed to come to the Dog & Duck, but only if we guaranteed them 10 grand up front "to cover insurance costs"!
You can imagine what my answer was!!

I would think St. Neots would give us a game.
