Hi everyone,

Can anybody who is interested in going on a supporters coach to HARROWBY away on 1st September please PM me by 31st July.

I shall also be raising this at the forum. We do need about 40 people to make the cost viable.

As much as the club would wish to organise transport for away games, we are only volunteers and have day jobs as well as working to get this club in shape, this would only add to our work load at the moment.

If someone wishes to volunteer to organise this, then we would be eternally grateful.
I'm sure that a car share would also be a good idea 8-)

Ive got a mate of a mate that was a minibus and we may be able to get a 'beer bus' + driver. Ill see what i can do!!

eBay sell some cheap minibuses/buses. Get on it Ralph/Jon!! ;)

I appreciate that very much as I'm sure does everyone else does too. There is a lot of great work being done by people here which is what makes the club great and feel more of a community. I tire of being treated as a walking ATM by Premiership clubs, which is one of the reasons I started watching Rushden a few years ago as you feel more valued.

I don't mind taking ownership of this task and will look into it and report back to members re costs, etc.

I had an idea about this which I haven't had a chance to follow up:

Vintage Buses.

I recently attended the Welland Valley Beer Festival and during said festival it is possible to go round all the local villages by vintage bus for donations only.

The buses come from all over the place just so that they can have a captive audience to ferry around (e.g. the driver I spoke to had come down from Coventry).

This got me thinking - we have the Historical Transport Society in Rushden and we have loads of people who would like to get on a bus at a set of well-defined local pick-up points and be dropped off at the same place. I'm sure they could all spare a quid or two for a donation to cover the bus driver's diesel bill.

Good place to start would be contacting the Historical transport Society I reckon.

As this Festival is on my patch, I believe that the vintage buses used on the Saturday have a significant donation from each of the 14 or 15 participating pubs so the optional 'donation' from the passengers is classified more as a tip.
