I'm delighted to announce that Dale Robert's parents, George and Isabel, will officially open Dale's Bar this Friday evening at 7pm, just prior to our home friendly with Peterborough United.

The Bar, which will be a bottle bar to supplement the service offered by the Social Club, has been created by converting an old site portakabin donated to the club.

There has been a tremendous amount of work carried out by a small and dedicated team of volunteers who have taken on this project as a real labour of love. I think you'll find the transformation of old site cabin to swish bar quite impressive. I looked in last week and was quite touched by the photos and memorabilia displayed inside - I hope you'll all be as impressed as I was? Please come along early on Friday to witness the opening and buy a drink to toast Dale, who will forever be a true Diamond !!

On behalf of the Board I'd like to thank Kerri, Caroline and Jane (with help from their respective partners Lee, Mark and Chris)for all their hard work and dedication, what the three of you have created is simply stunning. They were ably supported by David (electrics), Duncan (a variety of jobs as usual !!) and Shaun (flooring) - thanks also to Mal for donating the photographs, Tim for donating a shirt and some flags and Chas for donating some of Dale's gloves, daniel, steve and john for their painting skills ........... if I've missed anyone off this list I apologise, but I think I've captured you all !!

My personal thanks to you all for just cracking on and getting the job done !!

Just thought of something now you mentioned memorabilia - the framed shirts that Dale's parents donated to the old club at half-time against Kiddy. Does anyone know what happened to them? :(

Ed - I can't wait to see this, looking forward to Friday now.

For gawds sake don't put it on the UCL Facebook page, they will accuse us of running an illegal liquour business to supplement the MASSIVE wages we are supposed to be paying the players 8-) 8-) 8-)


Oh and well done to the girls, It really is a credit to all the hard work you have put in, it looks fantastic 8-)

Please spread the word folks and get people down early for this - don't assume people have heard about it, text, email, telephone etc etc as well as the social media stuff !!

Get the Northants ET involved, and any other local papers! Get BBC & ITV & Sky Sports involved aswell. ;)

i was listening to northants radio today and i have to say i was a little dissapointed that the game weekend wasnt mentioned,,,,,loads on corby vs wobblers,,,,,,,ha well there loss .i then turned over to connect fm where an advert came on(cant remember which one) blah blah blah blah,find us next to rushden & diamonds, irthlingborough,,,,,i did have a chuckle
cant wait for friday,,the girls,and guys have done a fantastic job

I was led to believe from George and Isabel that KC had given it back to them (yeah I know KC doing the decent thing is hard to believe, so I hope I've got this right!!) and that they said we could have it back once we had somewhre to put it, which we now have. So you never know you may see it again very soon. Apologies if I got that completely wrong it was a conversation we had many months ago but I can't think what else we woulod have been talking about.

Oh and the goves weren't actually donated by me, they're the Pro-GK Dale Roberts Edition the club purchased which I've had in safekeeping along with a number of other of Dale memorabilia which are now resident in Dale's Bar.
