New Signing - Jake Newman

Post by BartonRaz »

According to his Twitter page we're signing Jake Newman from Sileby tomorrow.

Incidentally he scored twice against Olney on Saturday.

Think he's the striker that scored a lot of goals for Whitworths last season?
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

Yeah, he was their top scorer last season. Now being reported by the UCL page on Facebook as well. Great signing if true :)

If you recall the Whitworths manager said in that UCL Chatter a couple of weeks back that he signed for us despite the fact that he joined Sileby.

According to facebook.

STOP PRESS:
Sileby striker Jake Newman is about to be transferred to AFC Rushden & Diamonds. More on this story to follow tomorrow.

Newman was top scorer for Whitworths last season and only recently moved to Sileby.

He's a mate of mine and let me know it was confirmed today. He came to the Wootton Game with me to watch...Really wants to play in front of the big crowds. Will be all signed up Friday. Should be a cracking signing. I smell a 4-3-3 with Dev dropping off a bit and Alfie and Jake up top.

I'd like to think it was me who influenced him as i've been badgering him all summer, but i doubt i'll get much credit. ;)

Interesting, didn't think we'd make any more signings as with the addition of Gilesnan, the squad looked pretty decent but certainly won't complain at another goalscorer added to the squad, does anyone know exactly how many he scored last season?

Jake scoring in Pre-season for us. Decent Pace...especially to go out wide and cut back in.
