Today's match was abandoned after 60 mins due to a serious injury to Diamonds left back Chris.

He was taken to hospital from the match with a suspected broken foot/leg.

Last update I've had is that he is still undergoing X-rays in hospital, so we are just hoping it's not as bad as originally thought.

Have to say a thank you to the paramedics and all the guys at Uppingham who were brilliant and have passed on their best wished to Chris.

Lets all hope its not as serious as imagined and he recovers quickly

Just had an update from Chris, he's broken both bones in his left leg. He's also taken the decision to stop playing after receiving a few bad injuries in the last couple of seasons. Such a shame as he is a very good player.

Bad news for Chris, probably the best decision.

It`s always sad when this happens to someone so young.

My best wishes go to the lad , can fully understand his decision to stop playing as well
