I remember Football Italia very briefly in 1994 I think?
It didn't really garner my interest though.
Regarding the pundits, I think anyone could do their job, they get paid obscene amounts, for basically pointing out the blatantly obvious. Although I do think Gary Neville knows what he is talking about.

What I like about James Richardson is he doesn't phone it in but seems to be really interested in what he is watching. The guardian podcast is worth a listen as well.
