Bloody weather!!!

Really can,t see any football for a week or two to be honest guys. The pitch is thick with snow and it,s going to take a long while for that lot to go. The temperatures are not really getting above freezing which isn,t helping.

Its the Sileby game this saturday, shame really as i fully expected a very big crowd for that one.

We could do with a good thaw but that could lead to flooding again as river levels rise, you just can't win can you!

If by some miracle this game is on it would be comfortably our lowest attendance of the season. There's no thaw expected until friday/saturday so i'd say Sileby is almost certain to be off also.

Having checked and not trying to sound geeky............it takes 6in of snow to produce 1in of water 8-)

So is there not any hope for Saturday, cause I seem to remember hearing before something about the snow keeping the pitch insulated or something, or will it have frozen underneath anyway?

If it's not frozen then the snow will have melted, which in all probability will make the pitch waterlogged.

There is also the issue of making the ground safe for spectators, which will mean clearing the snow from the concrete areas, stand and terrace.

We probably don't have enough volunteers to be able to guarantee that would happen.

A good thaw and heavy rain forecast for the weekend so flooding is to be expected especially on already soaked ground, when will it end eh!
