Extension of season

The Season may be extended to the 4th May if the UCL wish according to the F.A

Mind you i always get confused which step we are at but surely with the amount of games outstanding it should be extended for all non League levels.

We are at step 6. Thinking back to previous seasons I'm sure I've seen UCL games well into May. The FAs message does say clubs hoping to be promoted to step 4 must finish their fixtures by the 4th of May, so I assume our division could play on beyond that date if required.

At youth level you aren't allowed to play 11-a-side football in June, it may be across the board. So there's no reason why theoretically games can't be played up to Whitsun

Last season Woodford were allowed to extend their season at Step 4 because of chronic problems with their pitch. They ended up playing a game against Slough AFTER Slough had lost to Beaconsfield in the play-offs. Talk about a game being meaningless.

The only logical meaning for playing the game would be for the home side to bring in revenue from gate fees. Doe's sound crazy to play after a play-off game though!

Attendance was 72, so I don't suppose they made a fortune :lol:
I assume the league would fine clubs that didn't complete their fixtures though.

The fixtures for this weekend are somewhat confused. Northampton Spencer's game is off again tomorrow, and both Bugbrooke and Chenecks seem to have Junior Cup games as well as a scheduled league game.
The FA Full-time site already shows the Spencer v Olney game in the league next weekend being switched to Olney rather than a neutral ground (they've already played their "away" game at Olney), so clearly the league wants to cram everything in if it can.
