Thought this deserved a thread of its own. Game postponed on Saturday due to ON Chenecks Reserves' ongoing involvement in a cup competition. There is however a possibility that the game will still be played this weekend.

Could one game be at 11.30am the other at 2.30?

Or is that what is being considered. Sunday matches do affect attendance just look at K#ttering (or is that because they are sh!t).

I hate to prattle on about football at steps 6 and 7 in the south west (actually, I dont, its great ;) ) BUT:

The league secretary and fixture compiler does a truly fantastic job. He has repeatedly rearranged games in almost a few days notice and does everything he can to ensure that teams play when they want to.

The fixtures for the entire season are published before the start and there are no bizarre rearrangements for apparently no purpose, barring cup games (and not reserve cups!)

It all seems so daft!

I don't enjoy criticising the UCL and I know it doesn't look good on us if we keep doing it, but come on?! In what universe, does a flipping reserve game against a tiny village take priority over a senior league game with potentially 300+ travelling fans, if I was the ON Chenecks chairman I'd be fuming at the UCL and its ridiculous for us that we'll have an empty Saturday because of it, farcical

The UCL deserves to be disrespected, it's a joke. It's a poxy cup game between reserve sides FFS, no one cares! Any club without floodlights shouldn't be allowed in the league, simple as. Arghhh I hate them.

It may not be the Chenecks chairman that has reason to be upset. Given the Chenecks game will now take place on a different Saturday, there may be another side that ends up having to play us in midweek. I didn't see an explanation why our trip to Potton on March 23rd that was originally arranged was axed - but perhaps the potential of a situation like this might have had something to do with it.

Why couldn't this reserve cup game be played on the Sunday? Back when I was a kid our U12 fixture lists were more concrete than this rubbish. I have no idea who we're playing from one week to the next.

Pity we have arranged the Bugbrooke and Whitworth fixtures as neither of them have a game on Sat
