I agree, a good signing for a long term contract. The club gets the protection from poaching, and secures the services of players who are capable of playing at a higher level.
Does this arrangement command a fee from clubs who wish to sign them on ?

This is most uncommon at this level of football, I can understand it from a clubs point of veiw, getting your more desirable players on contract stops other clubs putting in a seven day approach offering the player an extra say £20 and the club loosing them.
What I fail to see is what is in it for the player or should #I ask on the members forum??

Fully deserved! I'm sure I mentioned on here a few weeks back he should be signed up ;) He's been fantastic this year but what I like most is that he seems to really love the club. He spoke very well last night, he's been with the club since a kid and was a season ticket holder before then. For me, he epitomises the ethos of our club.
