You have got to feel for the york fans, we all know what its like to rise and fall...You suddenly feel like the small fish in the sea when your in a new league...

Its ok jumping for joy at promotion, but there is nothing worse than having a miserable season, and the feeling of standing on the debanke at the boston home game like we did knowing that your on the brink of relagation, then hearing the final whistle was just gut wrenching...

where fallen greats in old-fashioned grounds rub up against sugardaddy-funded village teams in one badly administered competition.
Lol, such a great description of the conference, it is a funny old league.

But it does certainly make our position having to start from the bottom and I imagine many seasons of aiming for promotion to come seem a hell of a lot more exciting than just trying to stay in league 2 (how Rochdale fans coped with decades of being in the same league I do not know), so another reason why going bust was in the long term actually a good thing and the next several years I hope will be very exciting.

Wasn't it York City supporters that coined the term 'tin pot' league? Sounds like there are some that wished they were back there. ;)

Pedantic I know but it was the Boston away game where we were relegated in 2006. Both the Boston home games in 2005 and 2006 were quite memorable for good reasons!

I'm not quite sure what you are getting at here :? Although they had a long stint in the conference they achieved promotion by winning the play off final at Wembley and also winning the FA trophy at Wembley!!! It doesn't get any better than that. Although they are struggling this season they will have enough to stay up.

Are you saying that we are the small fish in the sea playing in the UCL?

You are quite right, sorry the Barnet match after, knowing we were down singing we'll never die :(

I thought that too. The press were there in their hundreds. 0-0 with 5 minutes still to go if I remember right, then we conceded two quickly.

That was the one. I seem to remember Hatswell missing a sitter down the other end shortly before their 2 goals as well
