If this bad weather continues (or just rain) making games at Wellingborough unplayable could we not look at a contingency of playing at Hayden Road. Yes, I know there are many factors to consider and Wellingborough is our home but an odd game here or there in Rushden would be great for many reasons. I know this would be dependant on getting permission from Rushden and Higham but after our game earlier in the season I think they would be most welcoming. Would add a few to the gate too.

They would have to scrap their reserve team for us to have a Saturday slot

Let's not forget that all the UCL1 games were off on Saturday - as they have been several times when we've had a game postponed. It's not just an issue with the D&D.

In fact R&H are one of the nine teams in the UCL1 that have played fewer games than us.

They also have an Under 18 side and youth teams playing on Sunday mornings and afternoons on the pitch.

We've had a unusually wet summer and unusually wet winter which means the water table hasn't decreased enough over the last 12 months which means the first bit of heavy rain we get and the area floods. There isn't alot we can do about it, we can't just throw our weight around and ground hop around the county when we feel like it. We picked D&D as our home and thats what it is and will continue to be until such time when we will build on own Stadium (not on a flood plain :D)

Think my question was not very clear. Start again, scenario, wet weather continues for the next 5/6 weeks with our pitch being affected more than anywhere else making the chances of home games near impossible. Would it not be possible or even prudent to look for a contingency because if the water table is so high it is only going to take a small bit of rain to flood the pitch. Also any possibility of playing anywhere would be in agreement with any club.

It simply ain't going to be possible and I really think that we are in the same position as everyone else, we ain't the only club being postponed, its just down to the unpredictable British weather. Playing games somewhere else is more hassle than its worth, due to fixture movements and reserve matches that might be played on the clubs pitches. Good thinking but if their was a vote on moving I'm sure the answer would be unanimous ;)

Was not moaning, just hope the pitch doesn't scupper our promotion bid. It's going to be tight. :D

With this in mind, im sure its something people have thought about. However there would be so much more involved in setting up an agreement with R&H or anyone else than it would to rearrange the game for the Tuesday for example. Money wise we would lose out, R&H would lose out as they would have to call off Reserve games etc, Wellingborough would lose out so not many pluses to the idea.

Also the state of the pitch is not any worse than some other pitches ive seen this season and i believe we've lost more points away from home than at home so we can't blame that when we don't go up ;)
