Tomorrow, showing as postponed. Hope there's a simple explanation, rather than a club in big trouble already.

There's a message on Sleaford's website - "Woodford United have pulled out of tomorrows fixture - no reason known currently. The club are hoping to host a friendly at home. Same time kick off."

It's being said on Facebook and elsewhere that Woodford will play in Division One this season.
UNBELIEVABLE.

This is the UCL we`re talking about so try not to be surprised by anything that happens. Woodford have probably looked at the squads of all teams in Prem and made a decision they may struggle and not wishing to have another season like last  or risk the entire playing staff doing one by the new year. Have put a pile of stones next to the pitch, removed part of the seating area, failed a ground grading and accepted relegation as an option to a fine, which they could not have afforded to pay. All the above sorted behind closed doors, sorry am I turning into a bit of an old cynic :o

The UCL perhaps shouldn't be blamed, Woodford probably gave them an ultimatum, either Div1 or we fold :(
I did suggest before the end of last season that they should drop straight to Div1 because of the mess they were in, as Rothwell Town did.
Easiest thing would be for Woodford and Blackstone to swap fixtures.

With the league getting slimmer and slimmer should not Oadby or Eynesbury be given the chance to come up to the prem ?

Obviously it's too late for that now all the teams have sorted out their squads. What I don't understand is surely the UCL should've been in some dialogue with Woodford during the summer, as this can't have been a knee-jerk decision?
At least now the players can't complain of fatigue during the season, they've gained an extra 4 games' rest over the last couple of months!

UCL now confirm on twitter.
@utdcos: Woodford United take voluntary demotion to Division one
That's makes it 22 clubs in Division 1 and only 19 in the Premier Division!
What a shambles.

Is that really an official twitter site? If so, failing to get your league sponsors' name correct is a bit of a faux pas.
For a league to make announcements of this magnitude via Twitter without appearing to have consulted / advised member clubs or put a press statement on its official website also seems to lack professionalism - if that is an official twitter site. Wasn't there an issue with a restructuring-related announcement that went on there and had to be retracted?
If confirmed, I'm not sure why they've allowed Woodford to compete at all - such a short notice move should surely have seen them removed from the league completely - for 2013-14 at least.
Perhaps this will give them the excuse to completely reissue the fixture list to keep Spalding happy.
It might also explain why we didn't get the Northants FA Cup draws this week.
