Correct, need to kick on in the league as we're behind due to not playing for five weeks.

Harborough got their first win and points of the season in midweek so won't be completely devoid of confidence, but even so just as long as we don't get complacent and overconfident after last week, it should be a straightforward return to league action. Long way behind in the league now as you'd expect, we'll just have to wait til January or whenever for our chance to catch up, just hope we don't have a situation like Guernsey or Spennymoor last season where we end up playing several games a week at the end because of cups and postponements.

It really will depend on whether the conditions get as bad as last year (and how far we go in the Vase). At the moment the schedule shows that after the Woodford game we'll have played 6 league games, and have the potential for 29 further 3pm kick offs in the season (27 weekends plus the Boxing Day and the Easter Fixtures). We'll have played 6 league games at that point, and, with the 4 midweek games already arranged after that date, it would take us to 39 games - i.e. over the 36 game target for league games, leaving three weekends available for contingency. That also then leaves us with up to 20 midweek slots for any more rearrangements due to cup games or postponements.Olly wrote:Harborough got their first win and points of the season in midweek so won't be completely devoid of confidence, but even so just as long as we don't get complacent and overconfident after last week, it should be a straightforward return to league action. In a nut shell then Tony, no need to panic just yet, providing we don`t have a winter like last year we have enough Saturdays coupled with half the available Tuesdays to reach the FA Cup 1st round, get to the Vase Final and complete the league programme. Good job we are out of any other Cups that may have caused a problem, can`t beat good planning :lol:Formic wrote:It really will depend on whether the conditions get as bad as last year (and how far we go in the Vase). Indeed.
We kept our home game against Huntingdon in early Nov by virtue of our exit from the Hillier Cup (The Doughboys have to travel to face Daventry in the next round).
