Things have gone a bit quiet from us recently and as you may have seen from the Northamptonshire Women's & Girls football league website, we haven't had the greatest start to the season. We have lost players due to various reasons, so we have started the first division with a fresh squad.

However...we have not let these losses get us down!! We are using this season as a learning curve to continue training hard and improve, not only our game but us as a team and also our morale.

This week I can announce that we are under new management. Stepping up to take on the ladies will be Mark Watts - he will coach the team and manage the games. Cheryl Murkitt, with help from others on the team will look after the admin side.
Leanne Mayes stepped down as manager on Sunday due to work commitments. On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Leanne for the hard work she put in for our success last season.

We are also signing a couple more players who will be very welcome at the club and ready for our next fixture on Sunday. We are always on the look out for new players, so if you know anyone who would be interested, contact me at chezzachoo1@hotmail.com

So, as you can see some changes have been made and we will keep training hard following managements advice to improve our game and not let the division/season defeat us...and comeback fighting!!!!

Our next league fixture is on Sunday 10th November away against Northampton Town Ladies (details on the website) - Kick off at 2pm.

The ladies would appreciate any support that you can give them :)

I will be keeping the forum updated with developments from the ladies team (not this long winded :lol: )

Thanks for that Cheryl, and thank you to you and Mark for taking the team on. Thanks also, of course, to Leanne and Katie for their great work in the inaugural season.
This season will be difficult because you`re operating what is a new team in the highest division, but it seems you`re being realistic, and most of all enjoying being together and playing football. It`s important that supporters support their team through thick and thin.(where have I heard that before?) ;)
Please keep updating the Ladies` progress on here.
Good luck x :)

The result from the Ladies game yesterday;

Northampton Town 6 - 0 AFC RDL

I wasn't available for the game yesterday, but from my understanding the Ladies got off to a great start and by half time the game was 0-0! However, we seem to lose our way in the 2nd half and unfortunately conceeded the 6 goals.
We will take all the positives and negatives from this game back to the training ground and learn from these to prepare for our next game.
