Hows the state of D&D pitch? It must be pretty cut up after yesterday.

If we get the predicted rain between now and 1st, is the game in serious doubt?

It would be really unwise to make any predictions now.
As and when there is anything to report, it will be posted on the OWS etc, until then we should all plan for the game to go ahead as scheduled

Looking at the forecast for the next couple of days they are now forecasting just light rain showers and not heavy downpours earlier predicted.

Looking forward to this game and will be bringing friends. Could we get our best ever UCL crowd?

Hope the weather is kind, but having walked on it yesterday I don't think the pitch will take much more rain so hopefully no more than light showers. The was some surprise yesterday that so much effort had gone into getting the game on, which after the time spent by Diamonds people helping Welly get the Boxing Day game played came as a surprise, presume they thought once money from that game was in their bank account the football year was over for everyone :roll:

I must say what a fantastic effort it was yesterday to get the game on - the "usual suspects" put in a monumental effort and deserve a hell of a lot of praise for their hard work - Mark, Duncan, David, Bob, Darren, Andy - if I've missed anyone I apologise !!

The same may be needed Tuesday/Wednesday - any other fans willing to sweat a little for the cause and give these guys a well earned rest?? If you're fit and able anyone can push a barrow and wield a shovel !! It's great to see big crowds, it'd be even greater to see a few extra pairs of hands helping to get games on - I speak from personal experience, the sense of pride in getting games on is fantastic !!

I arrived late yesterday, and only put in an hour, some of the guys mentioned above had been there some 8.30am - so much praise indeed.

I remain optimistic that the weather will be kind to us - but look out for the call to help and please answer it if given !!

Having just seen the weather I'd be very surprised if the pitch could take that amount of rain. Fingers crossed.
