It looks like they might be serious contenders again next season, having reappointed John Chand as their manager (who took them to the title in 2012-13), along with Steve Appleby (who took Wisbech to runners up spot in the Eastern Counties league in the same season) - with both of them leaving after their teams declined promotion.

There might be a bigger battle for the departing Spalding players now, as quite a few were signed from Holbeach.

So serious contenders for title next season are Yaxley, Holbeach, Oadby, Eynsbury,Huntingdon, possibly Thurnaby Nirvana, Wisbech and oh AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

Should be interesting competition!!

I think it should be much better if there are half a dozen clubs in contention for top spot rather than just one or two. More clubs will take points off each other meaning that a short loss of form at any point shouldn't mean you are out of contention for the title.

Chunky Winston has just started to make a wax doll of you and prepare his needlework pins so be prepared for the pain that`s coming your way, did you mean to omit the mighty Sleeping. Not sure about Eynesbury they will need to strengthen but may not have the resources to do enough. But still looks like a far more interesting league than this season, unless Spending have a mass clear out and the Lincs travelers all end up in one place again (back at Holbeach)

From what I've seen Eynesbury need to add eight new players if they aren't to go down.

I'm wondering whether the appointment of Steve Appleby at Holbeach will affect Wisbitch's chance of picking up players?

Didn't rate Oadby when I saw them play Harrowby the other week. They aren't as strong as the previous season. Wondered where Callum Earls was, appears he's joined the Scottish team that shouldn't be mentioned. He appears to jump around clubs.

Has he got a birthday coming up then Trek and you want to send him a card?? don`t think we need him as a player do we? or do you know something I don`t and we`re looking for a new left back :o from end of last season think he`s been Oadby, Burwell, back to Oadby now off learning the highland fling, not bad for 12 months.

What gave you the impression that I thought we should sign him? Just enquired as to his whereabouts when I was there as I knew he rejoined Oadby earlier in the season.

Yes I admit to a serious error in omitting the mighty Deeping. So that makes almost half the league as serious contenders. Should be exciting.

Yes Brownie, we will need a new left back. That one we have had for the past two seasons is getting old now and has lost the ability to score great goals, and was only my MOM 3 times this season.

Missed one out, he went from Burwell to the Leicester meat substitute team prior to returning to the UCL Div One winners 2012/13 and 2013/14.
