Fantastic news - some serious firepower up front and, looking at the retained list, even better to see the likes of Finlay, Brown, Henderson, Ashton, Bunts, Gearing, McBride, Lorraine & Dunks all up for another season with us. Obviously a lot can happen between now and August, but an 'expression of commitment' is pretty much all we can hope for at this level. A strong spine to the team taking shape already. Roll on the pre-season friendlies.

Great news as Turner is a very clinical proven goalscorer. Slightly disappointed that Scott Joseph can't commit to the club as I thought he showed potential.

Greg Ling. Why oh why? There must be another option. I hear Peter Ockhocheckawooko is available!

Greg clearly wasn't match fit when he joined us, having not been playing for several months. Remember that he was part of the Long Buckby title winning side, alongside Dunkley, Koriya and Bunting - and Jason Turner was with their title rivals Kings Lynn - with both of those sides having a better record than Spalding had last season. He scored 16 goals that season (Dunkley scored 37, Turner 38, Koriya 22, and Tom Lorraine got 22 for Daventry in the same campaign).

I wait to see how he is after pre-season. But I don't hold out much hope. I certainly saw no improvement in the time he played last year if anything he got worse. I'm sure a few people would agree.

His goals coming off the bench at Harborough were sublime, weren't they? I guess it was always going to be a tough ask to retain all the players most of us wanted. Think the official site said it was down to family reasons so nothing the club could do it seems.
