UCL Prem starts tonight

So the league season starts tonight with Deeping v Harborough. There's also Yaxley v Long Buckby tomorrow before many people's title favourites Holbeach start their campaign on Sunday with a trip to PNS. Who do people think will get a head start prior to the bulk of opening fixtures on Saturday 9th?

You'd expect to see easy wins for Deeping and Yaxley. Big spending Holbeach will have an early test against PNS - if they win that one comfortably then it will signal their intent.

Agreed with Formic's assessment of the Holbeach fixture, they've had mixed results in pre-season. Will the Oadby contingent still be wanting to travel all that way when the winter starts and will Graham Drury still be willing to share managerial duties with Chand in a couple of month's time?

Interesting view from ex-RDFC player, Andrew Tidswell:-

Sorry if I've missed this, but why are they kicking off a week before everyone else?

But yeah, very interesting assessment by Tidswell there, again we may not necessarily top the league, but just as long as there is no runaway leader (unless its us of course ;) ) and the top is close, then at least we can go into the end of the season having something to play for, rather than have the season fade out like last season.
