I know the forum used to club together to sponsor a player - is there any interest in doing this again? I clubbed together with others to sponsor a player this year, and it's obvious others have to, perhaps if others have not been able to do this already there might be sufficient interest?

Certainly sounds like something I could get on board with.

I collected the money for the last one of these that we did for R&DFC.

IIRC we managed to collect £330 to sponsor a player (can't even remember who it was now).

It would be great if the forum could manage even half that this season - plus with AFC R&D you know where your money is going!

I tried this the Div 1 season and despite getting enough say they would not enough money came in (one sent 5 £ coins and the envelope was empty with a hole in it) if someone else collects the money I am happy to chip in.

I notice that we now have 7 players on our squad that represented Long Buckby, at some stage, during their UCL title winning season.

Dunkley, Koriya, Bunting, Ling, Harris, Ashton and Hewitt.
